How to use the Family Forum & Gallery:

Membership:
Membership is limited to the descendants of C. Spurgeon and Healy B. Hutchins and close family friends. There are countless bots and bad actors that would misuse the forum if registration were open. Challenge questions to prove you are descended from the Hutchins will be sent if you are denied. If you answer the challenge question in an email response, you will be allowed to register. If you would like to join, ask a registered member to recommend you.

Registration:
To register provide the requested information, then wait until the Webmaster responds either approving or rejecting your request. If your request is denied, it is because the Webmaster doesn’t recognize your name or email address. All registration requests require Webmaster approval. After review, you will receive an email informing you and asking for additional information if needed.

Gallery:
A primary reason for creating the forum was to include a Gallery where members can view photos others have posted and post their own for others to see. For now, this is open to anyone whose registration request is approved. This might change without notice. Do not post anything you do not want others to obtain by screenshot.

To view the Gallery and post your own photos, click the Gallery button that appears to the right of Home and Search buttons after the forum loads. After clicking the Gallery button, choose the Gallery you want to view. To begin, there is only one Gallery: Hutchins Clan Photos. The intent is to create family group galleries. If you want to have a gallery for special purposes, send an email to the Admin.

• All Users May Browse: Read biographies and view photos from the main navigation.
• Approved Users May Contribute: Use data-entry forms to submit additions or corrections.
• All Submissions Will Be Reviewed: Submissions are queued for review before they appear to limit hackers from abusing the site.

Data Entry & Review Policy - Website

Submissions to the website do not write directly to the live database. They are stored, reviewed; and if approved, web pages are updated and published. This attempts to keep data accurate and to prevent attacks by spammers. If something looks off, you will be contacted before approval.

Required fields are visibly indicated on forms by underlined field labels and larger input panels with a colored border.

LDS-ID labels and data refer to identification used on the Mormon familysearch.org website; entering it is voluntary but tells others how to find you on the family search site. Person ID is a value created when you register or add people to the hutchinsclan.com database. The number is unique and each person has one. It is used as a means to find and identify records.

Data Entry & Review Policy - Forum and Gallery

Submissions to the forum and gallery are not held for review and approval. They are posted immediately. This policy will change if access is exploited by hackers or abused by members.

Privacy

We limit personally identifiable information for living individuals. If you find content that should be hidden or corrected, please contact the webmaster and it will be addressed promptly. Telephone numbers and email addresses will not be disclosed; they are used only to identify you and to contact you.
